At least that’s what this little guy seemed to be thinking today.
After so much time and effort spent moving from place to place and struggling to survive, to finally discover that perfect location to settle into and call “home” – it’s a feeling worth singing about!
And, boy, was this guy singing! Even I could hear him… It sounded a bit like “You Are So Beautiful”, by Joe Cocker. (Not really… but that song has been stuck in my head since I saw the bird 🙂). Perhaps he was referring to the gorgeous reflection of the clouds on the lake. Or, maybe it was all of the flowers blooming on the trees. Whatever it was, it was a joy to share a moment of happy contentment with my first Northern Parula of the year.
There are an estimated 17 million Northern Parulas in the world. What a thrill to have one setting up its territory so close to home!
